In the April issue of our monthly flagship publication, we feature:
- On the Record’s “Withering Heights?” by Chief Investment Officer Tony Roth looks at the quarter just ended and those to come.
- In Focus’ “Tariffs, trade, and Trump” by Chief Economist Luke Tilley and Senior Investment Strategist Meghan Shue explores the recent tariffs, the likelihood of a trade war with China, and the potential implications for the U.S. and global economies..
- Investment positioning, major themes, and asset class positioning updates.
As we conclude the first quarter of the year, we take stock of the direction in which markets seem to be heading. Our Capital Markets Forecast for 2018 calls for continued global economic momentum and, by extension, strength in global equities, though with higher volatility than last year. So let’s take a closer look at the recent and prospective shifts in the balance of market risks and why we are maintaining our overweight to equities at this time.
